About me

The person behind level up.

I’m Zsombor Fekete, an educational game designer and sociologist. Since 2022 I have been working as a senior e-learning specialist at Deutsche Telekom TSI Hungary.

level up Bt. is my own company. Through it I take on selected projects alongside my main job: fewer of them, but done with care.

How I can help

What I work on today.

My most important project is 7streak. Alongside it, I take on commissions in four areas, each backed by more than twenty years of experience.

01 · Flagship

A teaching and learning platform we develop together with teachers and students.

  • Gets you ready for vocabulary tests

It quizzes you and prepares you: this is what we built it for and what it does best. It helps every student, and especially those with attention difficulties. Practise for a vocabulary test with 7streak and you’re sure to get top marks.

  • Quizzes

For self-study, practice and revision, classroom sessions, events and prize games.

  • Blank maps and timelines

A dedicated algorithm for map exercises and for memorising dates.

  • “Tedd ki” (Publish it)

For creative teachers: publish vibe-coded custom content privately to a class and keep track of the results.

  • Teacher toolkit and e-register

Effective digital tools for the classroom, and a grade-free e-register for gamified feedback.

7streak is freemium: most activities are free, while classroom features and vibe-coding require a monthly subscription.

E-learning, educational games, simulations

We have worked in digital education since 1999, and since 2009 officially in game-based learning, developing digital educational games. In 2013 we set out to build an e-learning framework: GMS, developed together with Gábor Czuczor, György Hábori and Andrea Buzás.

  • Decision-tree simulations. This is what we were and still are best at: our sales training games brought our partners significant revenue growth. At T-Systems we have been building quality simulations with the original level up methodology for three years now, covering 24 real cases so far.
  • Interactive comics. An unusual format: easy-to-read narrative content with activities and mini-games that reinforce the key messages. The printed edition of our punya.hu comic found a place in Pope Francis’s library.
  • Quizzes and games. Interactive content for events and holidays, from thought-provoking puzzles and fast-paced brain teasers to GPS-based city treasure hunts.
  • Classic e-learning. I still take on course development projects, large and small.

03

Gamification talks, training and workshops

Alongside development, I have regularly given talks, training sessions and workshops, both on my own and with my colleagues.

  • Pro bono talks in schools on video game and social media addiction and on artificial intelligence; university classes on gamification and motivation as a guest lecturer.
  • Online courses and in-house training on e-learning, gamification and digital game-based training, mainly for large companies and startup incubators.
  • A premium leadership training with Andrea Buzás: The Gamification Matrix and Situational Leadership.

Live streaming

The name level up comes from a TV show: between 2004 and 2008 I edited and presented a culture programme called level up on the Budapest channel fix.tv. The company took on the name only afterwards.

With the fix.tv team we still regularly stream conferences and events. Our most important partner is the International Children’s Safety Service (Nemzetközi Gyermekmentő Szolgálat), with whom we have worked since 2005.

Research

Since we changed our focus, social science and market research is no longer our main activity, but we are still in touch with a nationwide network of field interviewers. We carried out qualitative research, in-depth interviews and focus groups until 2021.
